Born in 1970, in Beechworth, Victoria to a 5th generation farming family. Blessed with being the only superfluous daughter, she was expected to leave the farm and go to university. Fortunately her parents never stipulated what she had to study and so for three years, Jo completely indulged in her passion for making 'stuff'.

Graduating with honours from Chisholm Institute of Technology with high distinctions in sculpture and drawing. Jo has continued making stuff to this day and says that if what she did didn't come under the banner of 'art' she could be looked upon as having some sort of 'compulsive disorder'.

'I think the only real thing I gained from university was a peer group. It was refreshing to find out their were others like myself who were driven to making things - all day - everyday!'

Regularly exhibiting in both group and solo shows since 1991. Jo's work has continued to evolve and reflect her changing interpretations of the world around her.

Jo's amazing, unique, and refreshing style finds representation in painting, sculpture, furniture, cushions, and garden.
